MESSAGE FROM DR. REMY

HAPPY NOVEMBER 2025!!!

Fall is Here! Just as a new season brings changes in weather and scenery, so does a new school year. October was filled with many events such as the Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, Student Government Elections, Fall Festival, K to 2 Foundational Skills Parent Workshop, Word Parade and the start to our Awareness Fridays celebrations. Thank you for all of your support thus far and families that volunteered their time for these various events!

Students have taken all of their diagnostic assessments. During the the week of November 3rd, an assessment report will be sent home to parents in preparation of Parent Teacher Conferences on November 6th. Please note that you will automatically receive your child's progress report on the first Wednesday of each month. On November 6th, there is a half day and dismissal is at 11:20 am. There is no SQPA program

Events to Look Out For

This month, we are starting the following programs in the school:

  • STEM First Friday: This will take place on November 7th. Schedule is posted on ClassDojo.
  • Spelling Bee:  Top 3 students from each class will then go on to the Semi-finals. The top 9 students will advance to the Finals. The top three Grade 5 students will move on to the Districtwide Spelling Bee. The top three students from Grade 3 and 4 combined will automatically advance to next year’s in-school Finals. The families of those students will be invited to watch their students compete. Both the semi-finals and the finals will be held in the auditorium. SemiFinals are November 6th at 9 am. Spelling Bee Finals will be on November 21st.
  • Grade 3 to 5 Mock Exams: Grade 3 to 5 will be taking their ELA mock exams on November 19th and November 20th. Math mock exams will take place on December 3rd and December 4th.
  • Picture Day for 3K to Grade 1: This will take place on November 24th
  • Picture Day for Grades 2 to 5: This will take place on November 25th
  • Friendship Day Feast: This will take place on November 26th. More information will follow.

Uniform Policy

As previously communicated, we are a uniform school and full compliance with our uniform policy is expected from all students. Starting this month, students who do not wear the required school uniform will be considered in violation of Code A02 in the Citywide Code of Conduct, which pertains to failure to follow school rules. Students found in violation will receive lunch detention. The full uniform policy is available on our school website: www.ps354q.org. We encourage all families to review it to ensure their child is dressed appropriately each day.

If your family needs support obtaining uniform items, please reach out to our Parent Coordinator for assistance. We are committed to helping every student meet expectations and feel confident at school.

This message was also sent via GAMA and ClassDojo.

Thank you for your collaboration, and as always, stay safe!
