GETTING READY FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL

2025-2026 Middle School Admissions Dates:

  • October 15: Middle School application opens!
  • November 3: Deadline to register to test for Mark Twain I.S. 239 and District 21 Talent Tests.
  • December 12: Middle School application closes.
  • April 15: Middle School Offers released

You can do the following at any time:

  • Use the searchable middle school directory at MySchools.nyc to explore school options.
  • Check schools’ websites: find resources and learn if schools will be hosting any virtual events.
  • Learn about admissions, watch our video series, and get all the latest updates at schools.nyc.gov/Middle.
  • Find your school district (1-32) and learn if your child has a zoned school or schools by entering your address at schools.nyc.gov/Find-a-School or calling 311.
  •  You can get personalized support on- or offline, including by phone—see below.

RESOURCES FOR THE MIDDLE SCHOOL APPLICATION PROCESS

To support our Grade 5 Families, we have created a resource containing information of many Middle school around the city in English, Spanish and Bangla. We hope that you enjoy and find it useful. The list includes citywide, charters, and independent middle schools in NYC as well.

 

Please know that this list is not exhaustive and that there are other schools that you can research for your Jaguar Elite.

  • WELCOME TO 2026/2027 SCHOOL YEAR

    Welcome to the 2026/2027 school year!

    We begin the 2026/2027 school year this week! Below, you will find the letter for the first days expectation so that the first day runs smoothly.

    You should have received your child's class placement already. Please check your spam. If you did not receive it, please reach out via ClassDojo. The Family Handbook has been updated with new policies given by NYCPS.

    All school supplies and uniform information is on our website. We have been informed that some uniform sizes are out of order. Ideal Uniforms located on Sunrise Highway carry our uniforms as well and so uniforms can be purchased there. Students are expected to be in uniform Mondays through Thursdays. Only on Fridays are students allowed to wear their own clothes. Uniforms are to be worn for safety reasons, which is why it is important that the logo is on the uniform.

    You will receive this month's calendar before the first day of school.
