GETTING READY FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL
2025-2026 Middle School Admissions Dates:
- October 15: Middle School application opens!
- November 3: Deadline to register to test for Mark Twain I.S. 239 and District 21 Talent Tests.
- December 12: Middle School application closes.
- April 15: Middle School Offers released
You can do the following at any time:
- Use the searchable middle school directory at MySchools.nyc to explore school options.
- Check schools’ websites: find resources and learn if schools will be hosting any virtual events.
- Learn about admissions, watch our video series, and get all the latest updates at schools.nyc.gov/Middle.
- Find your school district (1-32) and learn if your child has a zoned school or schools by entering your address at schools.nyc.gov/Find-a-School or calling 311.

To support our Grade 5 Families, we have created a resource containing information of many Middle school around the city in English, Spanish and Bangla. We hope that you enjoy and find it useful. The list includes citywide, charters, and independent middle schools in NYC as well.
Please know that this list is not exhaustive and that there are other schools that you can research for your Jaguar Elite.
